The police have this morning recovered 700 road barriers from Kisenyi, a Kampala city suburb.
The operation, we understand was prompted by a tip off.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed recovery of the suspected stolen road barriers adding, four people are in custody to help in investigation.
“We carried out an intelligence led operation in Kisenyi area where we managed to impound over 700 suspected stolen Road barriers,” he said.
Onyango confirmed that: “4 suspects have been arrested and are now in Police custody.”
He revealed that the operation was after complaints of vandalism of government property on highways were widely recorded.
Onyango said after vandalism, the barriers end up being sold as scrap in city suburbs.
