Sindhi Community commends Museveni on peace, stability

The Indian community in Uganda has commended president Museveni for allowing them to freely work in the country saying they appreciate the gesture and promise to contribute towards the development agenda of Uganda.

The remarks were on Saturday made by the Indian high commissioner to Uganda HE Upender Sing while officiating at a fund raising event for the Kampala school for the physically hand capped which efforts were spearheaded by the Sindhi community Uganda in collaboration with the Indian Association Uganda held at the Millennium park Lugogo.

The envoy pledged to ensure that the current strong bilateral ties between the two countries remains strong for the common benefits of the two citizens.

The minister of works and transport Gen.Katumba Wamala on his part urged the Indian people to support his bid of trying to see that they reduce the road carnage which kills many people by way of sharing technology.

The state minister for youth and children affairs in the ministry of gender labor and social development Dr.Balaam Barugahara in his remarks thanked the Indian community for choosing to spare part of their hard earned resources to support the humanitarian cause of Ugandan vulnerable children at the Kampala school of the physically handicapped [KSPH] based at Mengo.  

The minister also thanked the school director Mwesigwa with team for keeping the school going saying his ministry would work together with that of education to ensure that the school was given all the necessary logistics to keep running.

The chairman Indian Association Uganda Raju Sareen was optimistic that the good relationship between the two people of India and Uganda would go a long way in realizing the cordial fruits planted several decades ago for the common good of all.

Both the Sindhi community Uganda chairman Dev Anand and the community coordinator Paresh Metha respectively said the gesture set by the Indian community shall continue such that the intended beneficiary children are given a new lease of life.
