Special Forces Command gets new Commander

An elite force, the Special Forces Command (SFC) has named Maj. Gen. James Birungi new commander. The changes confirmed Tuesday night see Maj. Gen. Don Nabasa head for a strategic course at the National Defence College.

Army spokesman Brig. Richard Karemire confirmed the changes.

“There is a change of Command at SFC Hqs from Maj Gen Don Nabasa to Maje Gen James Birungi. Gen Nabasa is to attend the Strategic Course at the National Defence College,” Kareire said.

He argued that Nabasa’s going for course is part UPDF’s professionalization through what he said, training and adding mor knowledge.
