STEALING FROM THE SICK: Store men, ambulance driver arrested

Three people have been arrested in connection with theft of government drugs.

The suspects have been identified as Isaac Obbo (store man at Nagongera HC IV) Dan Peter Opuna (a store man at Tororo HC IV) and Hussein Ocho (ambulance driver).

According to Deputy Police Spokesperson Polly Namaye, the said drugs were stolen from Tororo main hospital on February 17, 2020 at around 2pm.

The suspects used an ambulance registration number UG 3701 belonging to the hospital to transport a box containing 2000 pieces of dexamethasone injectable drugs under batch number l 0313.

The drugs have been recovered and exhibited, Namaye said.

By press time, the suspects were being held at the Central Police Station, Tororo.
