The police are investigating circumstances under which a 17-year old girl was ‘used’ and later strangled using wire.
The victim (name withheld) has been student of St. Elizabeth Secondary School in Gulama.
According to investigators, she was raped by her attackers and later strangled.
At the time, her parents had traveled to Kampala for a visit.
“It is suspected that the person who strangled her used a wire. After the visit to the scene, blood was oozing from her private parts. A wire suspected to have been used in strangling her was recovered,” a source privy to investigation said.
Regional Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi declined to divulge much details in to the matter.
He however confirmed that the body had been taken to hospital for postmortem as investigations in to the matter continue.
