Unknown Goons demolish Entebbe Central School, sports club facility

A group of unknown goons raided a building housing Entebbe Central Secondary School and Entebbe Institute Club- a sports training facility for badminton, chess, table tennis and Dats. The demolished building was constructed 100 years ago.

During the demolition, the yet to be identified goons injured occupants who were sleeping inside and made away with cash and property worth million shillings. However, police managed to arrest four of the goons and impounded their truck UBH 755X . 

The Executive secretary Entebbe Institute Club, Ali Sadiq, condemned the ugly attack on the building facility saying the demolition was uncalled for and greatly affects talent development among sports men and women.

Kupil Chourasia, one of the board members, castigated the attackers for having ill motives and called on police investigators to expeditiously investigate the incident and bring the culprit to book.

The area councillor Arafat Sekawoya, condemned whoever is behind the demolition saying their acts are so devious. He noted that as council they are not aware of anyone claiming to have bought the disputed land housing the school and sports club. 

Facts about the demolished building facility 

For several years, the ownership of the building facility has been a serious contest way back in 1972 when the building was owned by the Indians of Goan before Tamali Foods Exporters Limited took over under a tenancy arrangement.

The building facility sits on 4.12 acres, located on plot 33-43 Portal Road, Entebbe Municipality.

It was established in 1905 by Indians originally from the southeastern state of Goa. These Catholic Indians were locally tagged “Abagowa” who worked as civil servants in colonial times.
