Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have asked Lucky Joyce Bosmick Otim , Northern Ugandan’s Legendary Musician and other Youths who recently joined rebel group in South Sudan to surrender their guns and return back to Uganda.
The Legendary singer who is allegedly stuck in South Sudan was first asked to return home in October, 2022 by Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for his threatening statements while posing with different guns on social media.

In April,2022, Bosmick Otim, released a recorded video of himself in which he was holding separate guns with several rounds of ammunition on various social media platforms for weeks.
In the first video recorded for one minute and forty seconds, the musician turned politician was seen holding an AK47 assault rifle while threatening to carry out revenge on people he alleges are being used to kill Acholi.
Since the video went viral Bosmick Otim fled into hiding and despite being pardoned he declined to return home.
While addressing journalists on Saturday from Gulu Main Government Prisons Brigadier General Bony Bamwiseki, the UPDF Fourth Division Infantry Army Commander said the legendary Northern Uganda musician was duped by some people into joining the rebel outfits South Sudan People’s Liberation Movement Army in Opposition (SPLM-IO), and the National Salvation Front (NAS) with the intention to wreak havoc against South Sudan government then later come back home to fight government after completing their military training.

According to Bamwiseki ,the rebel group Bosmick joined failed him because they couldn’t even take over a parish in South Sudan adding that right now all the over 1,000 youths including Bosmick who were duped to join the rebel are now stranded in South Sudan as well as suffering at the expense of peace they used to enjoy in Uganda.
He has called upon the legendary musician to hand over his gun saying UPDF has nothing against him because he was only duped adding that they will offer him security to protect him since they heard that he fled to South Sudan because of threats from some people in the country.
