UWA Recruits over 1,300 Rangers, Takes them through Induction.

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)  finalised with the recent wildlife ranger recruitment exercise where 1,312 successful candidates are yet to join the Authority’s frontline conservation force.

According to the Assistant Commissioner for Communications, Bashir Hangi, the Authority has come up with the list of successful recruits and its available on noticeboards at the respective conservation areas where interviews were held, and on the official UWA website as well.

“All selected recruits have been directed to report for the commencement of training on May 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Kabalega Secondary School in Masindi District” a letter dated 5th April read in part emphasizing that failure to report on the specified date and time will result in loss of the opportunity.

Hangi emphasized that all recruits are encouraged to report with their original National Identity Card, a 2-inch mattress, a pair of bed sheets, a pair of sandals, sports shoes, a bucket, a green or black round- neck T-shirt, a torch (dry cells will be provided), and a backpack for carrying personal items. UWA further noted that no recruit will be allowed to report without an original National Identity Card.

He applauded all the successful candidates and welcomed them to the next phase of preparation for service in wildlife industry where UWA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its frontline conservation capacity as the new recruits prepare to begin training in Masindi District.
