The Land Protection Police Unit has finalized plans to ‘harvest’ Wakiso District Land Registrar after she snubbed summones to appear at the Criminal Investigations Directorate, Kibuli.
Christine Katwesigye, the Senior Registrar of Titles was to appear before Commandant, LPPU SSP Charles Mutungi on August 9, 2019 but declined without any notices.
Her summon was contained in Mutungi’s letter dated August 6, 2019.
“The purpose of this letter therefore is to require you to appear before Commandant LPPU at CID Headquarters on 9/8/2019 at 1000 hours,” part of the summon reads.
She was to carry along with her, copies of deed plans, area schedule, white paper for two plots of land and copies of caveats presented to her office by a one Yusuf Semakula.
KATWESIGYE’s TROUBLE
Her trouble stems from forgery and switching of Plot 13814 (1.662 hectares) to Plot 13757 which formerly measured 0.213 hectares.
The said land is located at Kiti-Kifumba in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
However, sensing fraud, a matter Vide LPPU GEF 222/2019 was reported at the CID Headquarters, Kibuli by a whistle blower.
It is against the above background that Katwesigye was summoned, a summon she declined to honor.
