14-year-old Boy on the Run

The hunt is still on for a 14-year-old Boy who escaped from police custody sometime back.

Our reporter was informed yesterday that up now Luwero police has not got a breakthrough in its hunt for runaway Patrick Ssazi who is still wanted to answer charges related to escaping from lawful custody, having canal knowledge of a person against the order of nature and incitement.

“Our file is still open and investigations through our intelligence officers is still on,” CPL Ssejaaka told Ssazi’s friend Joel Sekanjako who is also under pressure from Muzeyi Kasonga relatives with whom Ssazi was allegedly caught red-handed in a sexual act in April 2014.

Kasonga’s relatives have been pushing police to arrest Ssazi whom they want to punish for misleading their son. In 2014 the police arrested the two boys following commotion that ensued after Ssazi’s Uncle made an alarm after catching them red-handed and the residents wanted to lynch the two suspects.

According to investigations, Ssazi was 14 years old when he committed the alleged crime and now the police estimates that he is 21 years old today; old enough to face the full force of the law and help them get rid of bum-drilling for good by revealing accomplices.

It is said the two boys have been on the run since 2014 untill the police got information last year that Ssazi was possibly hiding in the country side and mounted an operation didn’t yield any results.

Ssazi is a total orphan (both his mother and father died) so he has been living with his uncle ever since. He was banished from his home and village for having done an abominable act.

The act of sodomy is seen as a sin and a shame according to the Ganda and African cultural norms and beliefs.  If arrested Ssazi and his colleague will be sentenced to 14 years in prison, according to the penal code Act of Uganda.

The police has since been appealing to any member of the public with any information leading to Ssazi’s arrest to report to the near by police station
