2021 Polls: Bobi Wine, Besigye ink deal

By Francis Otucu

Ex-FDc honcho, Col (RTD) Kizza Besigye and Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine have agreed to work together.

Addressing a joint press conference in Kampala Wednesday, Besigye camp spokesperson, Betty Nambooze said People’s Government which she is a party had agreed to end attacks against each other.

“We agreed that despite belonging to different formations, we must work together as partners on the same mission,” she said adding, “Museveni is too powerful and the only way to defeat him is by being organized and uniting not that we are weak but to be on the same line.”

People Power spokesperson, Joel Ssenyonyi on the other hand said they had agreed to end the recent hostilities and attacks towards each other’s camp.

“We agreed and commit ourselves not to engage in conduct which creates disharmony and undue collision amongst the forces of change and to always act in a manner that reflects togetherness and comradeship,”Ssenyonyi said.

The deal comes barely a week after an opinion poll carried out by Research World International put Bobi Wine ahead as a joint presidential candidate ahead of Besigye if elections were held on the day the research was carried.
