Kidepo Valley Conservation Area Emerged Overall Winners of the UWA InterCA Games 2025

The closing ceremony of this year’s InterCA Games climaxed with  an exciting sets of games;  soccer, netball, volleyball, darts and tug of war, witnessed by the  UWA  Executive Director Dr. James Musinguzi.
Kidepo Valley Conservation Area that emerged as the overall winners, took the football trophy, Tug of War, Darts and also displayed excellent performance during the range shooting.

Murchison Falls Conservation Area took the lead in the Netball and Tug of war, Mt. Elgon Conservation Area retained the Volleyball trophy.
In his closing remarks, Dr. James Musinguzi recognized partners, community, sister forces, and federation officials for their support.

He encouraged teamwork, dedication, and patriotism, urging staff to continue working together for the success of UWA. He also highlighted the upcoming rotational top management meetings across conservation areas.

Congratulated all participants for a successful InterCA Games!

Mayor of Buhoma Town Council, Chairperson expressed gratitude to the ED for supporting the event, revenue sharing, and upcoming projects. They requested road improvements, congratulated all players, and emphasized that everyone is a winner.

Ezra Mugyenyi the secretary of Bwindi Community Tour Operators and Hotel Owners Association thanked UWA for hosting the games in Buhoma and generously donated UGX 500,000 to the overall winner.
Ag. Chief Warden Bwire Isaiah of Mgahinga National Park welcomed guests and participants, highlighting the games’ role in fostering community involvement and camaraderie.

He praised the organizing committee and urged everyone to carry the spirit of unity and sportsmanship forward. Manager  Communication,  Bashir Hangi thanked management, participants, and the community for their support.

He noted improvements in UWA sports, including new games like tug of war, and acknowledged challenges while requesting continued support for the sports budget.
