BIG STORY: One arrested as NRM District bosses steal Shs18m Village Cash

The police are holding Tony Nabala, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) District Administrator for Iganga district.  

This, well-placed sources say, followed theft of Shs18m meant for village mobilization.

Insiders, in position of authority said the said money, from the NRM Secretariat in Kampala was meant to benefit 5 party members per village in 360 villages in Iganga and Bugweri districts.

Police sources privy to the probe have confided in us that NRM Admin-Bugweri identified as Yazid Kirunda has fled after arrest of his accomplice.

By press time, Nabala was still being held at the Central Police Station, Iganga.

 The NRM is yet to comment on the matter.
