December 8, 2019 rains in the western district of Bundibugyo killed 17.

Dozens are said to be missing.

The terrible and an unfortunate situation affected 4, 000 people, a lot of property including crops and houses were destroyed, bridges washed away and roads submerged paralyzing transport network.

However, at the centre of rescuing locals was a Community Conservation Ranger in Semiliki National Park who would later be named Corporal Hannington Agaba.

He was identified after images of him emerged on social media rescuing victims of flash floods. Social media threw praises at Agaba.

A WhatsApp group, Uganda Police Patriots, did not just stop at heaping praises.

They put monetary contribution together for Agaba, in appreciation. This, after the group members contributed individually.

Incoming Works and Transport Minister, Gen Katumba Wamala and Commissioner General, Uganda Prisons Johnson Byabashaija took lead.
