Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has in a writing, to the Electoral Commission said, he intends to contest for presidency as provided for in Article 103 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, 1195.
As a result, he is seeking clearance to hold a nationwide consultation.
“Section 3(1) of the Act provides that while consulting, a presidential candidate may carry out nationwide consultations,” part of the letter dated December 3, 2019 reads in part.
“I now write in line with Section 3(3) of the Act, to introduce myself to you as an aspiring presidential candidate and accordingly notify you of my intention to carry out nationwide consultations,” he stated.
This news site understands that the Electoral Commission is yet to respond to Kyagulanyi.
