The Central Police Station, Buikwe have in custody three people suspected to have had a hand in the kidnap and eventual killing of Evelyn Kyolaba, 30.
Her body was found at Ngogwe sub-county, Buikwe district days 9March 9, 2020) after she went missing.
Shockingly, however, her body was retrieved from a shrine belonging to Ismael Ssebuwufu, a resident of Maseke Village.
According to Charles Katongole, a suspect in the matter, he entered the shrine first and upon returning, Kyolaba was missing.
He told detectives in a statement that when he inquired, Ssebuwufu told him that the spirits had taken her away.
It is then that her relatives approached the shrine so as to carry out a search.
Against the above background, her body was discovered March 10, 2020 in a sugar cane plantation nearby.
However, the body was naked while the clothes were found scattered nearby. The witch, Ssebuffu and Katongole are on the run.
Others arrested in the matter are; James Kalema (witch’s father), Suleiman Kalema (witch’s brother) and Gerald Sendangi, a boda boda rider who aided escape of the witch.
The police say her body is at Kawolo hospital for postmortem as inquiries Vide CRB 080/2020/Ngongwe continue.
