Security sources say David Oketch was shot dead in a joint army and police operation in Kajjansi last night.
Kampala Metropolitan Police have however declined to comment on the matter with an argument that the army was in charge.
“It’s the army handling that matter, kindly call either Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki or Brig. Richard Karemire,” a KMP source said.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga did not respond to our phone call at 3:10pm.
In an phone interview with Deputy Army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki, he said the army is aware of the matter but said the police were better placed to comment on the matter.
“We are aware of that operation. However, that is a police operation supported by the army. Kindly call KMP,” Lt. Col. Akiiki said.
