The Electoral Commission has confirmed date for Hoima District Woman Member of Parliament and Kaabong as well as elections in Lower Local Government Councils.
This, Commission boss, , Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon said, is in accordance with Section 8(5) (a), (b) and (c) of the Parliamentary Elections Act, 2005 (as amended).
It is against the above background that he confirmed polling for elections of District Woman Representative to Parliament and other Lower Local Government Councils for Thursday, September 26, 2019.
Currently, the Electoral Commission is displaying lists of persons recommended for deletion from the Voters’ Register for a period of eight (8) days.
The exercise started on September 9, 2019 and will end on September 16, 2019 ahead of nomination of Candidates, Inspection of Nomination Papers, Campaigns & Polling Day.
To this, the EC has urged all stakeholders in Hoima and Kaabong districts to turn up in large numbers and participate in the electoral programme, in accordance with the guidelines for each activity.
This, Justice Byabakama said will ensure a smooth electoral exercise.
