The police at Chegere Police Station are holding five people in connection to the murder of a 39-yeaar old man identified as John Aloci.
The suspects are said to have killed Aloci on allegation that he stole two chicken from a house belonging to Esther Onweng at Olomunu, Atigolwok, Chegere sub-county in Apac district on Tuesday morning.
Regional Police spokesperson David Ongom-Muding confirmed arrest of the suspects.
He said the incident happened at 6am, according to deceased father, David Ongom, 70.
Ongom said a team of detectives have visited the scene. However said, no exhibits were recovered.
The deceased body, he said has been taken to the hospital for postmortem.
“The investigators will have to ensure that those arrested if implicated must be prosecuted as a deterrent measure and value for justice,” Ongom said.
