Deputy Prime Minister Al- Hajji Kirunda Kivejinja was Tuesday evening involved in a fatal motor accident but medics say, ‘he survived with no major injuries and his life is out of danger’.
The Deputy Premier and member of the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) was on his way back from Eastern Uganda in Namisindwa District where he represented the NRM National Chairperson and President, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at two campaign rallies.
Ismael Kibedi, a son to Mzee Kuvejinja says their father is currently at the International Nile Hospital in Jinja.
The incident happened at Magamaga around 8:30pm but the real causes of the accident will be known later from Police. NRM Deputy National Treasurer Dr. Kenneth Omona who attended the Namisindwa rallies together with Mzee Kuvejinja says, he was travelling with his driver and the body guard.
SG Justine Kasule Lumumba currently in Bunyangabu adds that a special team has been dispatched off to further assess the Premier’s health situation. The party wishes him a quick total recovery.
