Court in Entebbe presided over by Entebbe Grade one Magistrate, Stella Okwong Peculal , on Friday evening charged an immigration officer and two others over unlawful possession of psychotropic substances contrary to the Laws of Uganda regarding narcotic substances.
The trio identified as Denis Mugabe(immigration officer attached to Entebbe International Airport), Rapheal Madu and Banan Dan, all aged 34, were allegedly found in possession of 9kgs of psychotropic substances enroute to an unknown destination abroad.
The accused persons while in the court dock were not allowed to take plea after the trial Magistrate informed court that she has no jurisdiction to hear their case but it’s only the High court that can hear their matter.
The Magistrate remanded the trio to Kigo prisons till April 12, 2023 when their case is expected to be allocated to a Judge who has jurisdiction to hear their case.
