Nearly a week after opposition Forum for Democratic Change claimed their candidate pulling out of Kabong race was a result of bribery from the ruling party, the NRM has responded saying FDC is instead unpopular in the region.

The claim was after FDC Adyaka Judith Nalibe, declared that she was quitting the Kaabong district woman MP race due to lack of enough support from her party.

It is then then FDC spokesman Ibrahim Semujju Nganda said Adyaka had been bribed Shs1.2bn to fall of the race.

President Yoweri Museveni, was named as having been a party to “bribing” Adyaka.

A response, seen by this news site, the NRM said the allegation is laughable and defeatist on the part of FDC is not in doubt.

The ruling party is however optimistic that NRM’s Christine Tubo Nakwang will take the Kaabong seat whether Adyaka rejoins the race or not.

The FDC has in the past days been defiant saying they will seek court redress should their candidate pull out of the race.

Thus, the FDC is continuing its campaigns for Adyaka.

On the other hand, the National Electoral Commission says Adyaka will remain on the ballot but that the Commission will be guided by the law.
