KAJJANSI: Two arrested for bribing police officer

The police at Kajjansi Police Station have in custody two men accused of bribing a police officer.

Richard Walugembe and Baale Remogio, currently detained at Kajjansi Police Station are said to have approached a officer (name withheld) to release a vehicle registration number UAT 924D in exchange for cash.

Earlier, the vehicle had been impounded because it was being used to commit crime in the area.

However, the officer, instead received the money with one hand as the other placed handcuffs on the duo.

“We want to thank our officer for being professional and for reporting such an act,” Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Patrick Onyango told us last night, adding, “Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.”
