Kiruhura man weeps after thieves intercept him on way to bank money raised after cows sale, Shs3.5m taken

KIRUHURA: The police are hunting down three unknown men who reportedly adducted an old man before robbing him, Shs3.5 million taken.

The incident involving Moses Rutokire, 60, a resident of  Kacumbiro Cell, Rushere Parish in Kiruhura and his attackers happened Thursday afternoon.

Rutokire was reportedly heading to  Nyakasharara town to bank the money at Rushere SACCO after selling his two cows at Nyakasharara cattle market when he was intercepted, thumped and money taken.

According to Rwizi Region Police spokesperson, Samson Kasasira, the victim said three men driving in a car not known to him before offering him a lift.

It is then that the assailants, still on the run, attacked him and fled with the money.
