M7 Rushes to Kasese As Bobi Donates Shs13m to flood victims

President Museveni has rushed to Kasese district on a fact finding mission this afternoon.The district has since the beginning of this month been pounded by heavy rains resulting into floods. The rains have since caused river Nyamwamba to burst it’s banks and destroyed several homes and government facilities. Most important to note is the Kilembe mines hospital which was badly washed away by the flooding river Nyamwamba.Several patients who were in the hospital were evacuated to nearby health centers while other reports indicated that some of the patients who were on oxygen died in the process of evacuation.The president has today made a visit to the area for an on-spot situation assessment. Meanwhile, the plight of flood victims there has been boasted with shs13.5m donation courtesy of Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine. He handed the money to Kasese district woman MP Winnie Kiiza. Kiiza thanked Bobi and his group for.the kind heart. Bobi said that this money should assist people affected by floods in Kasese and that it was contributed by his People Power movement group as well as what he called comrades in Uganda.Kasese and it’s neighboring district of Bundibugyo and Ntoroko have in the past few days been hit by heavy rains causing displacement of people after their homes and crops were destroyed.
