Married Christian couples reminded to keep original love relationship

The Church of Uganda has challenged Christian married couples to ensure that they continuously keep within the realm of their true original love relationship despite the numerous societal challenges.

The remarks have been made by the Bishop of Namirembe diocese Bishop Moses Banja recently as main celebrant during a special service for married couples which was held at Namirembe cathedral.

Under the day’s   theme ‘The responsibility of a wife and husband to their family, work and church in relation to Romans 12-1-2 and John 15;16’.the participants shared new ideas that focused at strengthening their individual marriages by keeping them away from disasters.

The objective of the exclusive service was in dedication to renewing the marriage vows for over 400 couples who came from all the dioceses of the Central region.

The Bishop who was the event host alongside the president of the mother Union Central region and Namirembe diocese Nalongo Biingi  Roseline Kawiso welcomed the participants to the retreat which focused at discussing  the prevailing societal challenges many couples are encountering and as well devise means of addressing them.

He further cautioned that they need to sensitize their children about the realities of the modern world’s societal negative challenges such as homosexuality, alcoholism, drug addiction and HIV and Aids of which they must avoid at all costs.

He congratulated the couples that turned up for the event saying he was sure they have returned back home as changed couples who have acquired new skills of maneuvering the societal negative challenges.

Rev. Canon Dr. John Ssenyonyi was the guest speaker and said the Christian fraternity was facing many challenges such as poverty, illiteracy and lack of sustainable incomes which risks exposing them into satanic activities however he urged the couples to remain strong and serve their God.

The president Mothers Union Central region and Namirembe diocese Nalongo Biingi Roseline Kawiso on behalf of the mothers union fraternity commended the husbands for being loving partners in marriage saying they need to seek solutions to prevailing challenges amicably without resorting to violence.

The participants appreciated Bishop Banja and the entire leadership of the church for organizing such a strategic retreat which they said greatly exposed them to new positive insights of a renewed lifestyle filled with God’s blessings.
