Police at Mbale Police Station is holding one Rodgers Wamoto for allegedly killing his wife Doreen Nabifo after she allegedly denied him his conjugal rights.
According to reports, the suspect, a resident of Namikyelo Village, Bungwanyi Parish, Bukiende Sub County in Mbale district committed the crime on August 5, 2019 and he has been detained at Mbale Central Police Station.
A close neighbor only identified as Boniface told the police the couple on that fateful night had quarreled over sex. The body of Nabifo was found lying lifeless near river Manafa the next morning. The body had a cut in the middle with the two legs separated from the private parts.
A police officer, John Robert Tukei said they used a sniffer dog to enable them trace and arrest the suspect. He said Wamoto would be charged with murder. The officer warned residents against taking the law in their own hands, saying it is not allowed.
