Mbulamuti Community Sacco“Tunhikiire” To Get Financial Support From Government Micro Finance Support Centre.

Mbulamuti Tunhikiire SACCO Members after the AGM 2025

 Mbulamuti community’s association SACCO “Mbulamuti Tunhikiire” in Kamuli district will start getting financial and other benefits from the Government program under micro finance support centre.

This was revealed by Micro Support Centre (MSC) Regional manager Mr. Isairye Martin during the 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 held at Pentagon Hotel i Mbulamuti town council  on 29th July 2025.

 Isairye Martin who was the Chief Guest, assured SACCO members of the government’s commitment to support those who are organised.

“Mbulamuti Tunhinkiire is one of the leading community-based SACCO we have in Busoga, MSC will continue to support your SACCO with technical advice and

loans,” he said.

The SACCO which was founded 13 years ago with a membership of 36 people from the four parishes  of  Mbulamuti, Bugondha, Kiyunga and Buluya which was the then Mbulamuti sub county, is planning to set up a branch in Kidera and Namwendwa in Kamuli.

The journey of Mbulamuti Tunhinkiire SACCO can be traced from the fruits of the government inviting sub county chiefs in Uganda to Kyankwanza where the then

Mbulamuti sub county chief Mr. Kiyuba Simon attended and brought the idea of

forming a SACCO.

Among the first group of people preached were Muyimbo James who was the founding chairperson Board, late Kalulu Benard who brought the first group Tukole Disabled Association all from Lugoloire village in Mbulamuti parish.

Yet Bugondha Parish had Late Kakuba John who was by then a secretary at the sub county and helped in preaching SACCO gospel and filling all documents aimed at SACCO formation.

Mr. Kiyuba Simon who became the patron, offered his office as the SACCO’S office and Mbulamuti sub county premises worked  as headquarter for Mbulamuti Tunhikiire SACCO.

According to information on the ground ,10 years ago, the SACCO rented its own offices.

The SACCO located  on Market Road plot 1, Igwaya House opposite Akoyo petrol station in the heart of Mbulamuti town council is registered with the Ministry of Trade.  

Today, the SACCO is in full gear of buying her land to construct their  permanent

home.

Accordingly the SAACO has a good leadership from  the patron, the  Board headed by Mr. Kirye George William

assisted by Mr. Ngobi Charles, Mr. Mwogeza Peter is the Secretary and Mr.

Kyanga Wilberforce is the treasurer.

 Other members are Kulaba Stone, Erivaida Wakasisuka, Jane Mukooba, Dhikusooka Muhamend and Isabirye Sosan.

The SACCO activities are supervised by a committee headed by Mr. Kintu Muyende with members  Sizoomu Patrick and Namulondo Nubbu.

The SACCO employees are headed by the manager Isabirye John assisted by the accountant Cissy Anyango, a cashier, and loan bosses who run the daily activities of the SACCO.

“The SACCO which began as Mbulamuti SACCO  now serves Kamuli  district  and beyond as  it  never had a break during the lockdown of covid 19.

“We are proud of you. Thanks for running your SACCO,” said Kamuli senior commercial officer Ms. Inhenso Akoyo.

 She also pointed out that the  SACCO has promoted the culture of saving among the  people adding that they have  never received any negative report from the SACCO members  and called upon the community to take the loans they  could  afford to repay.

 She revealed that currently  Mbulamuti Tunhinkiire SACCO is blessed with 3,572 individual members and 130 groups. The loan portfolio is amounting to 738million.

 The culture of saving in Mbulamuti SACCO has grown to 200million saving balances according to the audited report from  the district commercial officer.

The SACCO has had a far-reaching impact on the socio-economic transformation of Mbulamuti and beyond  and many people are proud of this  SACCO.

Ivulabe Robert, one of the members and a benefitiary of the SACCO  told the gathering that his SACCO savings  enabled me to buy land and construct a  house through a friendly loan which was extended to him.

He disclosed that good enough, the interest charged on loan was later given to him as profits which are usually shared at the end of the year.

 He outlined the endless benefits as many youths in Mbulamuti and neighbouring sub counties like Butansi, Kisozi and Nawanyago, have benefited from the SACCO Boda Boda loan project.

 Also parents are able to take their children to school through friendly school fees loans.

This has helped most primary schools in Mbulamuti which are  now banking with the area  SACCO.
