Michael Atingi-Ego appointed as new Bank of Uganda Governor

Michael Atingi-Ego who has been serving as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda has been appointed as the new Bank’s Governor.

Deputy Press Secretary to the President, Faruk Kirunda confirmed the appointed.

According to Kirunda, Atingi-Ego will be deputized by economist, Augustus Nuwagaba.

The appointments come at a time when officials at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development are being held for a Shs 60 billion heist at the Central Bank.
