Mike Mutebi, Patrick Kaddu win UPL April awards

KCCA FC Head Coach Mike Mutebi and striker Patrick Henry Kaddu on Monday claimed their awards as the Pilsner Coach and Player for the month of April respectively.

The final monthly awards ceremony for the 2018/19 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (UPL) season were held at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo.

Mutebi managed four games in April and two in May and won four games, drew two plus winning the title with a match to spare.

The KCCA tactician beat Tooro United’s manager Wasswa Bbosa to the accolade. Bossa had four wins, a draw, and a loss in the last six league games.

Patrick Kaddu managed to score four goals in the last six games, grabbing two Pilsner player of the match awards in games against Nyamityobora and Paidha Black Angels.

Kaddu scored 14 goals in the whole Uganda Premier League season and helped the Kasasiro Boys win their 13th league title. He beat Tooro United FC playmaker Allan Kayiwa to the monthly award.

Both Mike Mutebi and Kaddu were topped up with a reward of one million Ugandan shillings each.

The Public Relations Officer of KCCA FC, Moses Magero received the Pilsner Player of the Month Award on behalf of Patrick Henry Kaddu who is current in the Uganda Cranes Camp preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations.

At the beginning of the season, Pilsner Lager announced a new partnership deal with the StarTimes Uganda Premier League to award the competition’s best players and coaches for the next three years.

Paul Mucureezi, Rashid Toha and David Bagoole are some of the players that have won the Player of the month award this season while Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, Sam Ssimbwa and Wasswa Bossa are some of the managers to have won the Manager of the month award this season.

The Pilsner man of the match award walks away with Shs 100,000 after the game.
