President Yoweri Museveni has Monday afternoon congratulated ex-Deputy Kampala Lord Mayor, Sarah Kanyike on her appointment as State Minister for Disabilities and Elderly.
In a Facebook post, Museveni expressed sympathy to ‘son’ (Erias Lukwago) who he said almost got a heart attack following his ex-deputy’s appointment to a government job.
“I congratulate Ms. Sarah Kanyike upon her appointment as State Minister for Disabilities and Elderly,” Museveni wrote, throwing a jab, “I want to express sympathy to my son Lukwago (Erias) who almost got a heart attack because I captured a big fish from my old party (DP).”
Museveni revealed he is happy with the Kanyikes who he said are after serving the country and not party politics.
“I am happy with people like Ms. Kanyike who put the problems of the people ahead of party differences. What Uganda needs is unity aimed at serving our people.”
