The Management of National Medical Stores has today boosted Entebbe
General Referral hospital medical staffs with relief items worth Shs51m. The donated items include bags of sugar (1330kgs), cooking oil
390liters), bags of rice (1300kgs), tins of powdered milk (262packets), bars of soap (130), bags of posho (1300kgs) and wheat flavor (260kgs) among other things.

While handing over the relief items to Entebbe hospital medical staffs, Dr. Jotham Musinguzi, the chairperson Boad National Medical Stores (NMS), said the donation is one of the ways of appreciating medics at the health facility for posting no death at the hospital since the outbreak of COVID-19 /Corona virus, a global pandemic.

‘We thank you for your excellent work. We have not lost anybody in
this hospital dying of Corona virus, ‘said Musinguzi.
Moses Kamabare, the General Manager National Medical Stores (NMS),
said donation to Entebbe medical staffs will remain continuous until
COVID-19 is stamped out of the country.

“This is a token of appreciation to our neighbors of Entebbe hospital
that has been looking after COVID-19 patients. And as long as COVID is
still around, we shall continue donating to them”

On the other hand, Dr. Moses Muwanga, the Director Entebbe General
Referral hospital, said the donation has come at the time when
families of medics treating Corona virus patients were complaining
over lack of food and other basic needs at their respective homes.
“Our staffs have been at this health facility for 4months and their
families have been complaining over lack of food at their homes.
“National Medical Stores (NMS) has been a key supplier to our health
facility by providing us with medical equipment. We assure NMS that we
shall continue to be good neighbors with them”

Dr. Muwanga called upon other donors to emulate NMS and pledged that
as Entebbe Hospital they intend to give back to NMS by offering its
staffs with free cancer screening, male circumcision and testing blood
pressure.

He further revealed that at the moment the health facility has 16
COVID patients including seven pregnant women and the rest are cases
from contacts in the community and returnees. He added that the
hospital has 21suspects of COVID-19 patients with signs and symptoms
of Corona virus.
