In order to reduce dominance of the opposition in the districts of Wakiso and Kampala, the office of the National NRM chairperson has finalized a new strategy to help the party win these hotspot districts which are opposition strongholds.
Speaking to NRM mobilizers in Wakiso district, Milly Babirye Babalanda, the person Assistant to National NRM chairperson also head of state, said that in order for the ruling party to win hotspot districts of Wakiso and Kampala in 2021 polls, this time round the party leadership has appointed twenty(20) mobilizers per village to canvas votes for the party flag bearers.’This will be a door to door mobilization. In 2016 election NRM won majority seats in parliament and at lower levels.Our aim is to increase the number of seats at all levels.’ our target is to achieve 100_150 votes per village .In Kampala and Wakiso district we target 500_1500 votes per polling center.
Babirye tasked all the national NRM coordinators to fire grassroot party mobilizers who fail to perform to their expectations.”The national coordinator should fire grassroot mobilizers who fail to hit their targets.
Rosemary Kirabira, the Wakiso Resident District Commissioner(RDC), strongly warned NRM supporters against flouting the health guidelines aimed at combating the spread of COVID_19 pandemic.
Eng. Joseph Sewava, the NRM national youth chairperson, said that the ruling party is not threatened by their counterparty in the opposition and that as NRm they target 95 percent victory in 2021 elections.
