NUP Blogger Released From Turkish Prison

National Unity Platform (NUP) leaning blogger Fred Lumbuye has been released from a Turkish detention facility, legislator Nkunyingi Muwada also Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs has revealed.

Lumbuye was conditionally released yesterday and placed under close supervision as his legal team battles the cases Turkey authorities brought against him.

“Our lead lawyers in Turkey have today formally confirmed to us that LUMBUYE FRED was Released from Administrative detention yesterday, Monday. Essentially LUMBUYE is now out of Prison”, Nkunyingi announced.

He added that the legal team in Turkey advised them that the battle is far from over.

“I want to thank Counsel ADNAN SAHIN and the rest of the legal team for the great legal efforts so far. Lawyers briefed us that inspite of his release, the non concluded cases will remain ongoing and the Legal team in Turkey remain commited as it has been to logically conclude all such legal details”, he added.

Lumbuye became very popular during the general elections as he campaigned for NUP candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. He recklessly attacked Mengo officials, senior government officials, the First Family in his unfiltered propaganda, often sectarian and genocidal remarks.
