OPINION: Uganda is tribalistic and that’s a good thing!

There is a lot of good in tribalism, as Humans we are all different depending on what our environment set up is like. It’s very true that Batooro are soft and polite in nature, it’s also true that Baganda women treat men different, we can’t ignore that Bakiga are energy gods and super confident, the banyankole girls are not the best dressed and the boys truly act entitled, most Basoga avoid conflict while the acholi are known to be straight forward with their demands. Our other tribe, the Indian Ugandans, we all know how different they are, yet we all have to share this same country. WE ARE A TRIBAL Country.

You can easily view this as a bad thing depending on your inferiority complex, but we can’t ignore that it exists. Personally… I chose to see how great an opportunity it is for us to know someone before we even meet them. To be able to understand someone based on their mental structure developed by his tribe they are identified by. With this, we are able to understand each other and live without conflict.

So, it’s really not about the tribes and how different they are, we should be a tribalistic country, we are Africans, we have always been tribal. We must develop a society that encourages us to raise our individual consciousness to understand that our differences are our strengths not weaknesses. Our society must learn how to use our differences to bring out the best in us.

If you hate a particular tribe because of how they live their lives, make yours an example for them to learn, don’t let hate take over the opportunity of inclusion.
