Sacrifice & support rural schools for your children’s education, Nakiyi tells Bugisu parents

Julius Nakiyi, the former Budadiri East Parliamentary Candidate, has urged parents to prioritize supporting their children’s education and also to support local schools in their area.

Nakiyi highlighted that many parents feel pressure to send their children to expensive urban schools, which may not always provide a high-quality education. As a product of rural schools himself, Nakiyi emphasized the importance of supporting local schools while investing in education.

Nakiyi made these remarks while addressing parents, pupils, and staff of Seeds of Hope Nursery and Primary School in Busulani Sironko District during a graduation party for top-class pupils last weekend.

He encouraged parents to make sacrifices for their children’s education, stating that education is a valuable investment that can never disappoint.

Nakiyi shared his personal experience of how his parents sold land to educate him, and after completing his education, he was able to buy the same land back at a higher price.

“No one paid for my Education apart from my parents, they sold land to pay for my fees and later after completing my education I paid back but at a higher cost” Nakiyi told the gathering.

He said that his first time to step foot in Kampala was while he was joining Kings College Budo and later Makerere university but focused on what took him to the city unlike other children who enter urban places and become mad at everything that comes across them.

He urged parents to always guide their children to get focused on what takes them to school other than thinking about useless earthly things before the right time.

Dadiri Gidudu, the director of Seeds of Hope Nursery and Primary School, urged parents to mentor their children and be supportive during the holiday period adding that this will help to ensure that children continue to learn and grow, even outside of the classroom.
