UCAA Hosts Rotary Club of Kampala North in Vocational Exposure Visit at Entebbe Airport Facilities.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) on 17th Sept, 2026 hosted a delegation of Rotarians of Kampala North Rotary Club in a vocational visit at Entebbe International Airport to learn about the aviation sector.

The delegation led by Rotarian Ronald Mutebi, representing the club President ended the visit with a tour of the airport facilities and the newly constructed terminal building which is yet to be opened to the public.

Christopher Omondi, the UCAA Operations Manager, briefed the visitors on the Authority’s administrative structure, functions, achievements, and current challenges affecting the institution. “We conducted this vocational visit to UCAA at Entebbe International Airport on to learn more about the aviation sector”, Mutebi said.

During the vocational exposure, the UCAA explained to Rotarians the practical understanding of Uganda’s aviation sector by briefings and highlighting to them ongoing infrastructure developments at Entebbe International Airport. Part of ongoing stakeholder engagements between UCAA and regional Rotary clubs to foster community growth and sector awareness.

“The visit in line with Rotary’s vocational service with the intention to provide the members with an opportunity to get practical exposure and understanding of the aviation industry in Uganda” Mr Omondi said.

Omondi added that “stakeholder engagements of this nature are healthy and important in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of service provision” which is also an opportunity to interact with the Rotarians, many of whom are frequent flyers thus getting their valuable feedback for continuous

improvement. The Aviation is a vital sector that connects people, facilitates trade, and drives economic growth, which aligns with the Rotary’s mission to serve and uplift communities.

Such engagements allow professionals to interact with institutions, learn from experts and gain first- hand information about different sectors. For the Rotary Club of Kampala North, the visit formed part of its commitment to promoting professional development, knowledge sharing and meaningful experiences among its members. Vocational activities remain an important way of exposing members to different professions and areas of expertise.
