UCAA staff Participate in the 10th National Conference on Communication at Makerere University.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has presented two papers highlighting technological innovations aimed at enhancing the safety, efficiency & reliability of Uganda’s aviation sector.

The 10th National Conference on Communications held on September 24–25, 2026, at the Yusuf Lule Central Teaching Facility, Makerere University with a theme “; Accelerating Market-Driven Innovation for Uganda’s Development”.

The UCAA team led by Edgar Obilangole and Richard Kato Sembatya presented the two technical papers highlighting innovations designed to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of Uganda’s aviation sector using modern technology and communication systems.

Edgar Obilangole presented a paper on "Design and Implementation of an IoT-Based Navigation Aid Monitoring and Control Solution" while Richard Kato Sembatya presented the second paper on “Real- Time VHF Radio Interference Monitoring and Localisation System for Airports" (also listed as a real-time VHF interference detection system).

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) delegation showcased technological innovations aimed at enhancing safety, efficiency, and reliability in Uganda’s aviation sector.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) also congratulated Jet Fresh Cargo on being nominated as a finalist in the “Best Cargo GSSA 2026” category at the Air Cargo News Awards, scheduled for 21 October 2026 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

The prestigious awards bring together leading companies and professionals from across the globe to celebrate excellence and innovation in the air cargo industry. “We wish Jet Fresh Cargo every success at the awards and commend its continued pursuit of excellence, reliability and professionalism in Uganda’s air cargo industry” a tweet read in parts.
