Singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu cum Bobi wine the National Unity Platform (NUP) party and presidential candidate have officially opened up another regional office in Mbarara Western Uganda after one which was opened in Iganga Busoga region.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine officially unveiled the NUP second regional offices in Mbarara city, adjacent to the Independence Park challenging the traditional political parties with no permanent party offices.

Escorted by, Deputy Party president western region Joly Jackline Tukamushaba, Secretary General Davi Lewis Rubongoya, the Leader of Opposition in Parliament and Party Spokesperson as well, Joel Ssenyonyi, MPs Shamim Malende, Aloysius Mukasa, Derick Nyeko, Timothy Batuwa, Elias Nalukola, Abdalah Kiwanuka Mulimamayuni, Fred Simbwa Kagwa, Sserubula Steven, among others.

Recently, Bobi Wine surprised Ugandans and security when he launched his party’s regional offices in the Eastern parts of the country where he revealed that the party had quietly purchased land and constructed the facility over the past years, deliberately keeping the development under wraps to avoid obstruction from the regime.
In the same spirit in which he described as a Roba-Doba style, Kyagulanyi used the method to acquire land in different parts of the country secretly including the one of Mbarara city just to avoid interference from security operatives under the ruling regime. “The secrecy was intentional because if they had known, they would have done everything possible to frustrate us,” Kyagulanyi explained
“We are securing permanent offices that will coordinate our revolutionary activities in the entire region and be the centre for coordination of our various efforts. This is testament to our commitment towards building a Party that will live beyond us,” he emphasized. Kyagulanyi said that NUP is focusing on uniting Ugandans by breaking the chains of tribalism, nepotism, sectarianism, corruption among others.

“It’s a collective duty to change country as a new generation to break chains of fear, bring love not hate, connect people to remove tribalism, sectarianism and a generation that unites”, Kagulanyi pointed out adding that NUP stands to build but not to break Uganda and build bridges not walls amongst Ugandans.
The leader of opposition Joel Ssenyonyi commended his leader Bobi Wine for giving Uganda a new character of leadership Ugandans deserve, he revealed that information about the office place in Mbarara was kept under wraps for over a year and so they would be able to avoid the usual sabotage by the regime. “We’re grateful to you, our President and the leaders with whom we work, for it takes discipline and sacrifice”, Ssenyonyi said.

In what sounded like a war of words and backfire to incumbent Museveni who for years back promised to finish Kyagulanyi and his group, the pop star-turned-politician also vowed to varnish Museveni and his group of NRM.
Bobi Wine first appeared on the ballot paper in 2021 general elections with Mr. Museveni in a heated campaign coupled with COVID restrictions, exchange of words, tears gas, intimidations, injuries, arrests and deaths that saw both parties accusing each other of vote bribery, rigging and ballot staffing.

President Yoweri Museveni 81-years old who is seeking a record seventh term in office since 1986 garnered 58 percent, one of his poorest margins of victory since taking power against Bobi Wine’s 35 percent in the 2021 elections.
