Uganda’s confirmed COVID-19 cases stand at 58.
This, after the Ministry of Health clarified that under the International Health Regulations (IHR), it is a requirement that every case that is tested and confirmed for a particular disease should be registered as the host country’s case.
Now, this means that two cases; a Burundian refugee who came into the country from Tanzania a week ago & a Kenyan truck driver who entered through Malaba join in as Uganda’s.
“Therefore, Uganda will capture all COVID-19 foreigners including truck drivers as her confirmed cases,” the ministry said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Uganda is continuing to register more recoveries with two recovered cases to be sent home Tuesday.
Yesterday, 10 recoveries were sent home. This meant that Uganda’s current active cases are 17 (as of last evening).
