Mbarara man breaks into 80-year-old’s house, rapes her

The Central Police Station, Mbarara is holding Alex Tumusiime, 40, for aggravated defilement, an act he committed on his 4-year-old niece.
Sources say the incident happened at Bugashe cell, Nyakayojo Division, Mbarara Municipality on May 3, 2020 and was reported to Ruti Police Station by the victim’s mother (both names withheld for professional reasons) Vide MBRA CRB588/20.
The police say Tumusiime was briefly held at Ruti but has been transferred to the CPS, Mbarara for proper management while the victim has been put on Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP).
According to police, the decision followed an examination on both the victim and the suspect whose ‘body’ was shuttered and found to be HIV+ respectively.
The suspect’s case file is complete and is to be submitted to the RSA for perusal, the police say.
