Moses Richard Lowho, the Kawowo Cell LC1 Chairman in Kapchorwa district told us that the old bridge was constructed by Italian company in 1995 but that it very narrow and weak compared to the new one which he says looks wide, strong, straight and higher adding, during the heavy downpour, the old bridge over floods with heavy stones and trees from the nearby forests causing deaths and inconveniences to the road users.
