UPDF officer Flees Marital Home for Mistress

By Francis Otucu

A woman claiming to be the official wife of Lieutenant Colonel Deo Rubaale, the Operation Wealth Creation Coordinator in charge Kabarole District, has accused him of abandoning his marital home.

In a statement recorded at the Fort Portal Central Police Station on February 22, 2019, the woman only identified as Kanyunyuzi claimed Lt. Col. Rubaale ‘fled’ his home and moved in with another woman, Sarah Kadajasi.

She said her husband sneaks to Kadajasi’s home at night and leaves early in the morning to avoid being seen by neighbours.

Kanyunyuzi also revealed that as a result of the relationship between the two ‘love birds’, Kadajasi, who is the Town Clerk of Ruboona Town Council, has been threatening her.

Kanyunyuzi said, on February 22, 2019 while she attended to her restaurant in Fort Portal town, Kadajasi stormed her workplace and threatened her.

Subsequently, she said, Kadajasi influenced her arrest, adding that she was held at the Fort Portal CPS from between February 22, 2019 and March 1, 2019 over assault and threatening violence.

Regional Police spokesperson Lilian Tumushabe said those handling the matter were yet to pick up their calls.

“I am out of office. However, my calls to the desk handling the matter are going unanswered,” she said on phone.

By press time it was not possible to get comment from Lt. Col. Rubaale or Kadajasi, but police said the matter is being handled Vide FPT SD/32/21/2/2019.
