Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has joined the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi to open 27th Lukiiko session 2019 by first conveying his gratitude to the organisers of his recent 64th birthday festivities in addition to thanking the clan leaders whom he visited at their clan heritage homes.
He added that plans are under way to visit other clan heritage sites to pave way for their improvement and also urged clan members to heed development initiatives of their clans.
Kabaka Mutebi called for the urgent restoration of cooperatives societies to entrench crop businesses especially coffee which was the backbone of income for the people in the Kingdom in addition to other crops.
The Kabaka thanked Buganda Heritage Association an NGO based in United Kingdom who erected a banner at home where fallen Kabaka Edward Mutesa 2 stayed during his trying days in exile.
