Difee Abdullah
A senior NRM mobilizer Difee Abdallah from Sironko district Bugisu sub region in Eastern Uganda says that NRM can still reclaim Kawempe North constituency which they lost to National Unity Platform party in the heated March 2025 by election.
According to Difee, if the national Resistance Movement (NRM) party changed the approach on how to reach out to the people on top of apologizing for the mess by those who violated the election process then the people of Kawempe North would trust the ruling party with their mandate.
National unity Platform (NUP) candidate now MP elect Elias Nalukola trounced the NRM flag bearer Farida Nambi Kigongo in the recent Kawempe North by election with a huge vote margin of over 9000 votes.
The by-election follows the death of area MP late Mohamed Segirinya.
Difee, one of the key NRM mobilizers from Sironko district and among those heading the campaign team of the district NRM woman MP flag bearer believes that there are new methods and approaches that could be applied to ensure Kawempe North is reclaimed by the ruling party.
He says that at this time apart from apologizing, investigating and going to court over the mess, with blame games, there is need for the party to go back on the grass root and establish what gaps are missing that NRM can come in to amend.
Difee added that Nambi Farida Kigongo is a darling to the people of Kawempe North but the way the entire election process was handled messed up her efforts to victory and so she needs to remain with the voters at this period as 2026 general election is not far from now.
Without motioning some others he said that there are several approaches which could be applied in Kawempe North to win the hearts of the voters if one is given a chance to carry out mobilization in that particular area.
He revealed that very soon he would voluntarily move to Kawempe North and do a door-to-door visits approach that could help come up with better solutions for NRM’s Nambi in the next election.
