Why court case Vs Rema’s ‘mangoe’ can’t stand

Singer Rema Namakula’s new catch, Dr. Hamza Sebunya has been dragged to the Allied Health Professional’s Council over an unethical conduct when he fell in love with his patient.  

Sebunya is reportedly a medical practitioner at Mulago Hospital.

“Our client has drawn our attention to the fact that he has learnt through social media and the press that during the subsistence of Edirisa Musuuza and Rema Namkula’s relationship, the person who was a doctor to Namakula, one Dr. Hamza Ssebunya has contracted marriage with her which our client believes constitutes professional and unethical conduct,” part of Sharif Sentongo Nambaale’s letter through his lawyers of Nalukoola, Kakeeto Advocates & Solicitors to AHPC, reads.

Sentongo’s argument is that Sebunya ‘ate’ his patient, contrary to Section 38(1) (2) and (4) of the Allied Health Professional Act Cap. 268 of the laws of Uganda.

However, those in the know say this argument does not stand.

For starters, Rema and Edrisa Musuza alias Eddie Kenzo were not with Rema at the time.

Insiders say Kenzo and Rema parted ways in 2017.

Subsequently, Kenzo moved to his Makindye studio where he sought refuge.

This means that Rema was free to find another mangoe eater.

Secondly, both Rema and Kenzo are Muslims. Under the Muslim faith, for as long as a woman is not engaged anywhere, she is free to hunt.

This, experts say, qualifies Rema’s hunt and Sebunya’s love for the ‘sili muyembe’ singer.

Thirdly, Sebunya, according to The Sqoop, is not a doctor but rather deals in medical supplies such as gloves, needles, kidney plates, syringes, facial masks and wheel chairs for mainly Non-Governmental Organization. This, the online publication said, is done through Akron Diagnostics and Laboratory Supplies, a company owned by Sebunya. If this is true, then, one cannot drag Sebunya to AHPC.

Rema is reportedly ready to introduce Sebunya to her parents in Masaka on November 1, 2019.
