Hundreds Grace YPA Masters Agribusiness Forum 2025

Hundreds of farmers, agribusiness sector players and entrepreneurs yesterday Friday graced the ‘2025 The Masters Agribusiness Forum’ hosted by the Youth Platform Africa [YPA] with a call on them to start small, grow gradually and respect the rules of the farm gates for maximum achievements.

The call was made by the chief guest who doubles as the NRM party deputy secretary general Rose Namayanja Nsereko who encouraged the farmers to ensure that they start farming practices at a small scale and gradually allow growing as they, mastering the rules of the farm gate which are simple but complex.

She challenged them to undertake specific studies in any farm project they plan to undertake as well as employ the services of professionals to avoid making mistakes and losses.

Namayanja told the over 600 participants at Sheraton hotel that she initially started with an investment of 2,000 birds at her home village of Kande in Semuto Nakaseke district which later collapsed due to making wrong farm decisions however upon taking lessons from the experts, she has managed to set up her modern state of art Kande poultry farm Ltd with a current stock of 100,000 birds making her eligible to join the Billionaires club of the YPA group.  

She urged the farmers to always invest in projects using the right skills, personnel, technologies, resources and innovations if they are to excel however commended the YPA director Obed Ben for the strong advice he gave her which effectively enabled her to start up a poultry project currently exporting to the region as well as the United Nations family respectively among other high value markets.

The participant’s learnt from several experts who made strategic presentations detailing how to invest in various profitable farmland businesses and minimizing losses.

Obed in his remarks urged farmers who wish  to seek new investment skills and farmland knowledge to work with his professional body which majors largely in the goat rearing sector because they have all the experts who can give them express advice on how to become successful farmers who use little capital and land to earn millions in return on investment.

He revealed that they have started up a professional skilling training institute capable of offering  on farm skills to the students capable of  guiding  them to  make key  decisions including research on markets, land use management skills and technologies among others 

The participants appreciated the wise leadership of YPA for the guidance which has enabled many of them to improve on their farming methods to minimize losses and improve on incomes respectively.
