Uganda National Bureau of standards (UNBS) has recruited nearly 100 personnel in the new financial year 2019/2020, a move that should boost the organisation’s service delivery across the country.
While opening and closing their three-day orientation at the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) main hall, UNBS Executive Director Dr. Ben Manyindo urged the new employees to raise the agency’s flag of excellence high and keenly uphold the bureau’s core values; Professionalism, Integrity, Customer focus, Innovativeness and Team work.
Different unit heads also shared with new employees the functions of different departments that make up the bureau and their roles towards standards development, promotion and enforcement.
These include; The standards department, Import inspection, surveillance, legal metrology, National Metrology Laboratory, ICT, Public Relations and others.
The new recruits took the oath of secrecy in the presence of Dr. Manyindo.
