A joint operation conducted by the State House Anti-Corrution Unit and the Police yesterday led to arrest of Kiruhura Deputy Resident District Commissioner.
Nicholas Kamukama and his accomplice, Kosea Kangume were arrested after a bribery tip-off.
“We conducted an operation that led to the arrest of the Deputy RDC Kiruhura district Mr Kamukama Nicholas and his accomplice Mr.Kangume Kosea(councillor Kenshunga s/c Kiruhura district). Caught red-handed, they were soliciting for a bribe to aid the illegal operation of an unlicensed money lending company. CID – Police confirm that they will be charged with bribery and extortion. We thank the Kiruhura residents for the vigilance and continued cooperation,” a statement of the unit’s official Twitter account reads.
